Geranium versicolor

The story
Originating in the landscapes of southeastern Europe, the pencilled cranesbill has captured the imaginations of gardeners for generations. Its striking, veined petals earned it the common name of pencilled geranium, as if an artist had carefully sketched delicate lines across each blossom. Over time, this resilient plant slipped past the borders of cultivated plots, escaping into the wild to establish new, untamed populations across Great Britain, Ireland, France, and even into North America.
